Champions League: FC Bayern is running hot and celebrates a goal party against helpless Pilsen

Bayern were missing two key players in the Champions League against Viktoria Pilsen in Thomas Müller (33) and Joshua Kimmich (27). The reason: Both have Corona. Two weeks ago – during the national team break – Manuel Neuer (36) and Leon Goretzka (27) tested positive for Corona. So the virus is currently going around at Bayern. Spicy: Most recently, the people of Munich were together at the Oktoberfest. Did they get infected there?

A question that cannot be answered on Tuesday evening. And Müller like Kimmich were not missed either. FC Bayern celebrated a rifle festival. The Czechs had absolutely no chance and presented themselves as very helpless over long stretches. The high 5:0 victory was therefore not too high.

Thanks to the success, the Munich team is already one and a half legs in the round of 16 – and they’ve definitely warmed up for the Bundesliga cracker on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund. And not only that – with the 31st CL game in a row without bankruptcy, the Germans set a new record. The goals for FC Bayern were scored by Leroy Sané (2x), Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mané and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Because of spectator riots against Eintracht Frankfurt, Olympique Marseille had to play the home game without their own fans and then got off to a bad start in the game. After just 51 seconds, Francisco Trincão Sporting Lisbon shot into the lead in the almost completely empty Stade Vélodrome and thus ensured a dream start for the Portuguese.

A little later the Portuguese bliss was over and one person had a decisive part in it, namely Antonio Adán. Completely unchallenged, the Sporting keeper first shot Marseille’s Alexis Sanchez and thus owed the equalizer with a mega buck. Just three pointer turns later, he also initiated the 2:1 of the French with a terrible tee shot.

After an unmotivated outing, Adán then hit the ball away from outside the penalty area and was rightly thrown off the field. Substitute keeper Franco Israel came on for a field player but also blundered in his first action and was unable to prevent Marseille’s Leonardo Balerdi from making it 3-1. The second half was much less spectacular. Chancel Mbemba made it 4-1 just before the end of the game.
