Media outlets continually look for ways to produce entertaining content for their audiences, which is why each product generated is exhaustively reviewed. That is why it does not generate much surprise when the directors of the same companies decide to remove some spaces from their programming.

At the end of 2023, ESPN announced that it would cease operations in Peru after five years, so its two exclusive programs for this country such as Team F and the local editions of SportCenter have already stopped broadcasting.

Weeks later, another important television channel such as Movistar Deportes followed in its footsteps and it was confirmed that three projects were lifted from its content schedule for 2024.

“Fuera de Lista”, one of the longest-running programs on Media Networks (operator of Movistar Deportes), hosted by the magician Ernesto Carpio Tirado, will stop airing after eight years and nine seasons. The well-known space for interviews with various athletes, especially soccer players, had its greatest peak during the period in which Ricardo Gareca led the Peruvian team.

The presenter himself, the ‘Mago Plomo’, announced the reasons for the cancellation and, although he noted that the desire of both parties was to separate, the final decision was made by the company.

“In all that context, Juan Reynoso arrived and things became, not because of him, but for a lot of reasons, a little more tense, less happy. I have not had the opportunity to continue spreading that good vibe to both the fans and the protagonists. At that point I was talking with my collaborators about how to turn it around, the program needed a total reengineering, what we were going to do, we were thinking about that and I even expressed it on my social networks. I met with the new manager of the channel and he told me that Movistar Deportes no longer wants to count on me. I have been more than satisfied with the explanations that the manager gave me. I really appreciate that you showed me your face. “I am very grateful to the channel for those nine years…” he explained in a video recorded for his Instagram account.

The second program to be taken off the air is the dressing room. This content premiered in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 under the leadership of Luciana Roy and Daniel Marquina, being broadcast daily from Monday to Friday for almost four years.

Actor and talent Daniel Marquina also used his social networks to confirm his departure from Movistar Deportes. “That’s how it started and that’s how it ended. I never imagined I would work in cable TV, much less for so long. It was very good while it lasted, thank you so much for Movistar Deportes,” the radio host also wrote along with a series of photographs.

He even joked about the topic on a well-known local podcast and indicated that the channel’s schedule was reduced to topics related to its flagship program “Al Ángulo.” “Movistar Deportes narrowed its programming to ‘Al Ángulo’ and ‘Al Ángulo’. He survived (the show) longer than I expected. He made a lot of time for what he deserved. (…) It was subsidized by Movistar and you quickly realize that you have only one sponsor and the top has 12, you know that at any moment you are going to leave. You are aware of that, but in the meantime I am going to have fun,” he noted on the Ouke program.

Another entertainment show that was born in 2020, this time a month before confinement. With the theme of predictions for making sports bets, it began under the direction of Raúl Castagneto and Horacio Zimmermann. Some time later, the latter left his leadership and was replaced by Romina Vignolo and Gonzalo Boszeta. Its last edition was on December 12. The communicators in charge also said goodbye on social networks.

“I adore you, thank you for watching us all this year on Fútbol Lab, the last program of 2023. May life continue to find us on TV,” Vignolo wrote on Twitter.

“Everything today was finished. The last Football Lab was done, notes for the channel content, summary meeting agreed. Those who want to bet, look for me in 2024, I have successes for you. Be careful, I warned you,” said Boszeta in the same way.

Also on Instagram, Jeanet Sosa announced her departure from the aforementioned media, where she had been since 2017. The sports journalist and publicist worked as a host and reporter throughout her stay.

“Six years of a lot of learning, lots of football, good conversations and friends. From guidelines, texts, selfies, trips to and from the airport, interviews, commissions and more. This 2024 it’s time to learn from another side and continue in the search to grow as a human being, which for me will always be the most important thing. I leave grateful to Movistar Deportes for a beautiful and enriching stage of my life. Thank you, teammates, for your patience, affection and professionalism in every moment that we had to walk the field together. See you! “He stated.
