Chantier Davie: an agreement finally concluded between Quebec and Ottawa

An announcement is scheduled next Tuesday in Lévis to formalize the Davie in the National Shipbuilding Strategy, learned TVA Nouvelles.

Economic, labor and political circles in the region have multiplied public interventions in the last decade to bring about an agreement between Quebec and Ottawa to ensure the future of this site.

This framework agreement will set out the terms and conditions for accelerating the manufacture of ships that Canada needs and will allow the Davie Shipyard to have access to contracts worth several billion dollars.

It could therefore ensure its future and its jobs for decades.

The Davie will join Irving and Seaspan as recognized supplier partners for the Federal Navy.

The details of the agreement will be revealed during an announcement in Lévis on April 4.
