A Mercedes-Benz announced this week that it will implement the ChatGPT in their vehicles through a testing program. In total, more than 900 thousand vehicles compatible with the system MBUX will be able to participate in this experiment that will be carried out in the United States.

This program starts this Friday (16) and according to what the German brand itself revealed in a press release, drivers will be able to “talk to their cars”. Similarly, it will be possible to use the phrase “No Mercedes” to activate some traditional commands.

The company also said that the goal is to make the responses of its voice-controlled system more natural. In addition, it will be possible to allow the software to meet other more complex requests from drivers. In general, the pilot program will last for three months.

Another important detail is that ChatGPT can be downloaded for free through the official Mercedes application. Microsoft, finally, also came to comment on this novelty and said on its blog that vehicle owners of the German automaker will be able to make reservations at restaurants or buy movie tickets by car.

It is worth remembering that General Motors also plans to use ChatGPT, but to replace the manuals of its cars. Mercedes said it will store the data in the cloud for analysis and that test results will indicate whether it will continue with the idea in other countries or not.

It seems that Mercedes is willing to go beyond TikTok and Youtube in its vehicles…
