The American company OpenAI, specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), announced on Monday the implementation of “new vocal and visual capabilities” for its ChatGPT program.
Thus, it will soon be possible to engage in an oral discussion with the chatbot or to present it with an image, which it will be able to identify, analyze or comment on.
In practice, the Voice functionality will offer, in the same way as a voice assistant, the possibility of “chatting (with ChatGPT) while traveling, asking it to tell a story or settling a debate at the table”, details OpenAI in a press release.
For its part, image recognition might notably make it possible to “find the reason why your grill is not working, explore the contents of your refrigerator to plan a meal or analyze a complex graph”, adds the firm.
In addition, ChatGPT will be able to analyze and comment on a specific element of an image, previously circled by the user.
These new features will be deployed in the next two weeks for subscribers to ChatGPT Plus, the paid version of the chatbot, or customer organizations of the service.
