Doha: The Chavakkad Pravasi Association is organizing a cricket tournament with 12 teams at the Old Ideal Indian School Cricket Ground from Saturday.
Chavakkad Pravasi Association President Sheji Valiyakath said in a press conference that the Asian Town Cricket Stadium will be the venue for the mega final and closing ceremony on April 1. Abdullah Theruwat, Global Chairman of the Association, said that the final will honor those who have excelled in the field of cricket in Qatar.
The press conference was attended by the General Secretary of the organization Sanjay, Treasurer Abdul Salam, Advisory Members Shaji Alil and Abdul Nasser and Cricket Committee members Jishad, Shafi and Jimnas.
Doha Bank CEO was the chief guest at the event, which saw the release of the tournament trophy and jersey. ICBF President Siyad Usman, IBPC President Jafar Sadiq, Community Leaders Hassan Chowgle, Neelanshu Dey, Sunny Varghese, Sabit Zaheer, Sameer Kalanthan and tournament sponsors were present.
The main sponsors are Citi Exchange, Lifeline Hair Fixing, Land Royal Properties, QBox and Creststone SVP.
