Check for €225 for your heating oil: here are the conditions for receiving it

The Chamber approved Thursday in plenary session, the bill establishing an allowance for the acquisition of diesel or propane in bulk intended for the heating of a private dwelling. The text was approved unanimously, less the abstention of the N-VA.

Faced with rising energy prices, the federal government decided in April to grant a one-off allowance of 200 euros, increased to 225 euros following the kern last Saturday. The measure concerns 21% of Belgian households, according to the Minister of the Economy Pierre-Yves Dermagne, holder of the bill. The planned budget therefore amounts to 225 million euros, an amount which corresponds to the additional revenue garnered by the State following the increase in the prices of heating oil and propane.

This check for 225 euros:

  • Is intended for households that heat their principal residence with fuel oil or bulk propane.
  • It can be paid only once (single premium) per household
  • The filling of a fuel tank must have been carried out at home between November 15, 2021 and November 15, 2022.
  • Anyone residing in a single-family home or apartment may request the check.
  • The measure has been extended to apartment buildings with collective heating.
