Project Leonardo, the accessibility controller for the PlayStation 5, was finally announced by Sony with all its features after being revealed in March. The chosen date is special, as today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day.

The new controller aims to allow people with disabilities to play for longer periods of time with greater ease and comfort. For this, it has several customizable buttons, an analog stick and labels for each button.

Custom labels allow the player to mark the functions of each button for easy identification. The accessibility control can be used on flat surfaces, orient it 360 degrees, and even clip it to an AMPS mount or tripod.

The analog stick can be customized at a distance and the controller also has four 3.5mm AUX ports so that the player can connect it to other accessories such as special switches, buttons and analog sticks.

On PlayStation 5, the player can customize various aspects of the control such as its orientation, map buttons with different functions, disable buttons, include two types of functions for the same button and configure profiles for different types of games.

Additionally, the PS5 Accessibility Control can be used alongside the DualSense or DualSense Edge as one with sensitivity and home position adjustments. There is even a toggle mode, which allows the control to function as the keyboard’s Caps Lock key, creating even more possibilities for all the buttons on both accessories.

Sony has yet to release details on availability and pricing for the PS5 Accessibility Controller, but says it will reveal this information in the coming months.
