CHENNAI: Chennai Blitz continues the winning streak in the third season of the Prime Volleyball League. Chennai beat Kolkata Thunderbolts in a thrilling match at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Chennai’s comeback came after trailing by one set. Score: 14-16, 21-20, 15-5, 17-19, 15-8.
After losing the first set, Chennai won the second set in a tight battle. The victory in the third set was easy. But despite Kolkata’s comeback in the fourth set, Chennai regained their superiority in the final set with the fan’s enthusiasm fueled by their third win of the season. With the back-to-back wins, Chennai topped the table with six points. Former champions Kolkata are yet to open their account after losing all three matches.
Calicut Heroes and Kochi Blue Spikers will take to the field on Friday. The opponents of Heroes are Delhi Toofans in the match which will be held at 6.30 pm. Blue Spikers will face Bengaluru Torpedos at 8.30 pm. Having won the first match, Calicut is currently ranked fourth. The Blue Spikers, who have lost both their matches, are in eighth place.
