In early September last year, Cher hired a caretaker to keep an eye on her son. The caretaker was said to have been sitting in the entrance area of the hotel, waiting to see what Elijah was up to.
In mid-September, hotel employees are said to have found Elijah unconscious, face down on the sidewalk near the hotel entrance, and brought him into the building. Two days later, the police arrived and escorted Elijah out of the hotel. He then stayed in a rehab clinic in the Pasadena district.
