Chiapello, from Together for Change, is the new mayor

With 75.91% of the votes counted, the candidate Gino Chiapello of Together for Change was the most voted candidate with 36.61% of the votes and will be the new mayor of the capital of the department Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña.

Maximiliano Camusso (Somos Laboulaye) 24.67% and Walter Accotto (We Make United for Laboulaye) 21.71% occupied second and third place, so far.

They are followed by Lucas Panelo (We Are Making Laboulaye), Claudio Quaglia (First Laboulaye), Sandro Aguilera (Federal Neighborhood Union) and Carlos González (Humanist Party).

Abdala is serving two consecutive terms and due to the Municipal Organic Charter, he could not run for a third term. Instead, Together for Change had proposed Finance Secretary Gino Chiapello as his replacement.

The electoral roll was made up of 18,792 voters in 54 tables. Traditional ballots were used in this electoral process. Each list had one candidate for mayor, eight for regular councilors and eight for alternate councilors, plus three regular tribunes of accounts and three alternates.
