Chicago White Sox could seek a trade for Salvador Perez

The relationship between the new manager of the Chicago White SoxPedro Grifol, and Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perezit could open a door for the “Windy City” organization to consider making a trade proposal to acquire one of the best receivers in the league. MLB.

Pérez still has 3 more years on his contract with the Royals and $62 million pending, this is not counting the club’s option for 2026 for $13.5 million. The Venezuelan will be a free agent in 2027, so the White Sox will have to make a good offer to Kansas City to make him part with his star.

Pérez hit a .254/.292/.465 batting line with 23 home runs, as many doubles, 76 RBIs and a .757 OPS in a season considered low-key by his standards. Remember that the Venezuelan hit 48 homers and drove in 121 runs in 2021, coming seventh in the American League MVP voting, winning the Silver Slugger and receiving an invitation to the All-Star Game.

In his showcases, Pérez exhibits 5 Gold Gloves, 4 Silver Bats, a World Series ring, 7 invitations to the All-Star Game and the MVP of the 2015 World Series.
