Palakkad: The youth congress leader of Trithala was taken into custody by the police citing the possibility of protesting against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Youth Congress state secretary AK Shanib was taken into custody by Chalishery police. It is reported that other leaders like KPM Sharif, Salim and Aziz have also been detained by the police. The Chief Minister will arrive at Chalishery today to inaugurate the state-level Local Government Day celebrations.
Shanib released the video of the police officers and the vehicle that came to take custody from his house this morning through Facebook live. Shanib said that in the event of Maharaja’s visit to Trithala, Youth Congress members should stay away from home.
Policemen and vehicles were seen outside the house in the morning. Shanib also asked if the preventive detention against which the court was opposed is still there. Shanib also accused the policemen of trying to cheat the phone on FB Live.
Shanib wrote in a Facebook post that how many people can you imprison when there are a thousand people outside? He also stated that no matter how long he is locked in jail, he will continue to protest against the Maharaja.
