The workshop will be presented by scriptwriter and writer Walid Kamal, who has rich experience in this field and has won many awards for writing. He presented successful series for major stars, including Mohamed Heneidy, Hend Sabry, Donia Samir Ghanem, Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, and the heroes of the Misr Theater. He also presented animated series for children on Egyptian television, and plays on state theaters such as the National Children’s Theater, the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, and the National Center for Child Culture. He won the first prize at the level of the Arab world in writing for children from the Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan Awards from the UAE in 2005. He also co-wrote the popular children’s program, Simsim World.

The workshop targets children from the age of (12-18) years, and young people from the age of (19-25) years, at the center’s headquarters in Al-Haram, and online, for a month, with 8 intensive lectures.

It is a theoretical and practical workshop where the participants are introduced to the art of screenwriting in general, and its stages as an art that has a technique that differs from writing the story, the novel and the play, and introduces them to the method of writing the screenplay (French and American), with an explanation of the types of “genre” films, and it is followed by practical training on the stages of screenwriting starting with From the idea, the story, the dramatic treatment, the beginning, the middle and the end, the conflict and the climax, the conclusion, how to write the profile of the characters and the dialogue, the division of the chapters and scenes, the snapshots, the scenario and the dialogue, and the division of the scenario into the main parts: the introduction, the articulating point, the rise, the climax, the fall, the solution, the conclusion , with a review of the importance of the first minutes in the movie (10 minutes), the use of the “hook” trick or the flash event, analysis of examples from famous films, writing a profile of characters and how to create and develop complex and multi-dimensional characters, and explaining the concept of “plot points” or the plot and its role in the development of the story, and the concept of The “plot twist” or the counter-plot and its importance, how to develop the main and sub-scenes and their writing techniques, explain the skill of writing the “log line”, the importance of dramatic sequence and how to write it, and write short scenario clips, subscription is made via e-mail or through messages on the official page of the National Center For children’s culture on Facebook, or requests are received manually at the center’s headquarters in Al-Haram, A.
