KaThe Child Rights Commission has ordered that seat belts and baby seats should be made compulsory for children. The police and the motor vehicle department have been instructed to take strict action against those who violate the law.

A baby seat should be installed for children under two years of age. Necessary amendments should be incorporated in the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules for strict compliance of the directives.
This has already been suggested by the Motor Vehicle Department to ensure the safety of children in vehicles. The Motor Vehicle Department has recommended that children above 14 years of age use seat belts and children below 14 years of age should use seat belts or child restraint systems according to their body size to ensure safety.
