Children’s activities on the customs of the harvest

Starting the new high school year and with the aim of familiarizing the children with aspects of folk tradition related to life in nature and the cycle of time, the Greek High School of Patras organizes activities for the children’s groups about the Customs of the Harvest.

The aim of the activities is to bring children in an experiential way into contact with the folklore wealth of an important period of rural life, using song, dance, folk tale, visual creation and gastronomy as a vehicle, as well as to enjoy the team spirit of actions.

The program of actions is as follows:

A. Thursday, September 26, 2024

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, hours 17:30 – 19:30, the children, with the guidance and assistance of the teachers, will get to know the customs, songs and dances of the harvest and will make mustaches. Also, Mrs. Dimitra Nikolopoulou, a kindergarten teacher specialized in telling folk tales, will tell folk tales about grapes, grapes and wine.

B. Friday, September 27, 2024

On Friday, September 27, 2024, hours 17:30 – 20:00, the children, with the guidance and assistance of the teachers, will get to know the customs, songs and dances of the harvest and will grow mustaches. Then, under the guidance of the head of the Department of Visual Arts, Ms. Stergiopoulou Maria, they will create structures with the theme of grapes, grapes and wine.
