Throughout this Sunday, low intensity earthquakes have been recorded in various places in the northern part of the country.

However, most of the movements are imperceptible, because Chile is located on the limit of the Nazca tectonic plate, where it impacts the South American plate.

For security reasons, it is important to stay informed about the recent earthquakes that have occurred in the country, a task carried out by the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile.

These are the earthquakes recorded by Seismology:

  • If you are at a mass event, the person must stay in place and protect their head and neck with their arms. In addition, you will also have to follow the instructions of those in charge of security at the venue.
  • If you are driving in a tunnel, bridge or highway, you should slow down and stop after leaving the area.
