Chilean deputies meet with a Venezuelan pair who seeks to “strengthen ties of friendship” | National

The National Assembly (AN, Parliament) of Venezuela reported this Sunday that the deputy of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Ricardo Molina, held several meetings with his Chilean counterparts with the aim of “strengthening ties of friendship” between the two parliaments.

The National Assembly of Venezuela indicated in a press release that the pro-government deputy, Ricardo Molina, met with his Chilean counterparts Boris Barrerahead of the Communist caucus, Green Social and Independent Regionalist Federation of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, with the legislator, Ana Maria Gazmurimember of the Humanist Action Party, and with the independent deputy for the Los Ríos region, Patrick Roses.

Molina talked about the possible reincorporation of Venezuela into the Andean Parliament and the importance of strengthening the progressive bloc in that space.

In addition, always in accordance with the press release, the Chilean Communist Party promised to designate a deputy as responsible for “activating and consolidating” the “friendship group” between both nations.

Last May, the Venezuelan Parliament established new “friendship groups” with 18 countries, including Chile, with the aim of strengthening relations.

The Chilean president, Gabriel Boric, has been critical of his Nicaraguan counterpart, Daniel Ortega, as well as the political situation in Venezuela, governed by Nicolás Maduro.

In November, during a visit to Mexico, Boric stated that “Latin America cannot be silent” in the face of human rights violations in Latin America and expressly denounced the situation of “political prisoners” in Nicaragua.

Weeks later, at the XXII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), held in Havana, Maduro charged against what he considered “the cowardly left”, without directly mentioning Boric .
