Chilling CCTV captures shooting of fitness trainer

Fitness trainer Kapil Redhu was shot dead outside his gym in Hansi, Haryana, on June 11, 2026, when an assailant fired ten bullets in five seconds. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing, which followed a separate high-profile shooting of a criminal inside a Patna hospital.

Ten Bullets in Five Seconds: The Hansi Gym Shooting

It began like any other morning for fitness trainer Kapil Redhu. Standing outside his Red Gym in Haryana’s Hansi, Redhu was supervising an outdoor workout session as a group of trainees began their cardio routine on the steps leading to the fitness centre near Fawwara Chowk. Then, in a matter of seconds, the routine morning turned into a chilling execution captured on CCTV.

The footage shows two men arriving on a motorcycle and stopping directly behind Redhu. While the rider remained seated with a helmet on, the pillion rider—carrying a backpack and wearing a cap and mask—calmly got off the motorcycle. Without any visible altercation, he walked towards Redhu and opened fire from close range.

According to the timestamp visible on the CCTV footage dated June 11, 2026, the attack took place at 5:25am. The first shot was fired at 5:25:33am. Over the next five seconds, the assailant pumped nine more bullets into the gym operator. Hit by the barrage of gunfire, Redhu collapsed on the spot. The CCTV footage captures the panic that followed as startled trainees, caught completely off guard by the brazen attack, scrambled for safety.

Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility via Social Media

Police believe the attack was carried out with precision. Despite the repeated firing in the middle of a training session, no one else was injured. Equally striking was the gunman’s composure after the shooting. The footage shows him calmly turning back, getting onto the waiting motorcycle, and fleeing with his accomplice.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder. A social media post from an account identifying itself as Hari Boxer Sundar Hanshi surfaced shortly after the attack, naming several individuals.

“Ram Ram to all brothers. Today, the murder of Kapil Redhu (operator of Red Gym) that took place in Hansi, Haryana — I, Hari Boxer, RD Dhaliwal, Harman Sandhu and Vikram Kridan take responsibility for it. We got this done.”

The message further alleged that Redhu was involved in earlier firing incidents in Sheikhpura and Dhani Puriya and claimed that he had ignored repeated warnings issued by Sundar Bhai Hanshi. The message ended with fresh threats directed at alleged rivals and associates, warning that they were being watched and would be targeted soon, concluding with the phrases “wait and watch” and SALAM SAHIDA NU.

Hospital Shooting Shakes Patna

Violent crime also struck a medical facility in Bihar. Five armed assailants entered a prominent hospital in Patna and shot dead a criminal undergoing treatment. The entire attack was caught on the hospital’s CCTV cameras, showing the gunmen calmly walking into the patient’s room, pulling out their weapons, firing multiple shots, and escaping without resistance.

The victim, Chandan Mishra, was a notorious gangster with numerous murder charges. He was on medical parole and had been admitted to Paras Hospital in Patna after being transferred from Buxar to Bhagalpur jail. Mishra succumbed to his injuries shortly after the shooting.

Authorities suspect the attack was carried out by members of a rival gang, known as the Chandan Sheru gang.

“Chandan Mishra was a criminal with several murder cases. He was out on parole and was undergoing treatment when members of a rival gang shot him. We are working with the Buxar police to identify the assailants.”

Kartikay Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police

Police are also probing the role of the hospital’s security staff and whether there was any collusion that enabled the attackers to gain such easy access to the victim.

Political Fallout and Growing Pressure Over Law and Order

The brazen hospital killing has intensified public and political outrage amid a recent spike in violent crimes across Bihar’s capital. Several high-profile murders, including those of businessman Gopal Khemka, BJP leader Surendra Kewat, and lawyer Jitendra Mahato, have raised concerns about the government’s grip on law and order.

The ruling JDU-BJP coalition, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is facing mounting pressure from the Opposition, especially with state elections on the horizon. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at the administration, questioning the safety of ordinary citizens.

“Criminals backed by the government stormed an ICU and killed a patient. Is anyone safe in Bihar anymore? Did such things happen before 2005?”

Tejashwi Yadav, RJD Leader

In response, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha condemned the incident and promised swift action, stating that a full investigation is underway and that those responsible will be brought to justice under the directives of the Chief Minister.
