The Chinese group, China Baoan, announced this Thursday its intention to invest in Morocco in a cathode materials project for lithium batteries with an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
China Bao’ announced that its subsidiaries specializing in cathode materials for lithium batteries are willing to sign an “investment agreement” with Morocco, according to local media.
The same source indicates that the agreement in question provides for the creation of an intermediary company in the Kingdom in order to invest in the construction of a production unit with an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
To bring this major project to fruition, the Chinese company indicated that it had mobilized a financial envelope of around 3.5 billion yuan, or $500 million.
