Germany’s largest Chinese products fair wrapped up in Essen on Wednesday after attracting more than 20,000 visitors from all over the world.
The first edition of the “China HomeLife” fair featured more than 20,000 products made by more than 500 Chinese companies.
Binu Pillai, chief operating officer of Meorient International Exhibition, the company that organized the show, said it was a “great opportunity” for Chinese companies to sell their products in European markets, especially at a time when some European countries are in the throes of price increases.
“This fair is dedicated to trade, investment and new partnerships,” Pillai said.
Affordable and quality products from China are a boon not only to European retailers, but also to consumers facing a cost of living crisis.
Stephan Plassmann, managing director of German e-commerce company Roeder, told Xinhua that the cooperation he established with a Chinese supplier last year had been successful, with the best products made in China at very high prices. competitive.

Victorien Bouba, a young Cameroonian living in Germany, was impressed by the quality of the Chinese-made auto parts used at the German auto company he works for. The fair gave him the opportunity to meet Chinese suppliers in person.
“Chinese products have excellent cost-performance ratio. I plan to purchase 20 rechargeable energy storage devices for small and medium enterprises in my hometown. After seeing all these Chinese products during the exhibition, I think China could be a partner in this venture,” he said.
Charleen Sturz, a German sales manager, had never done business with Chinese suppliers before visiting the show. The quality of the hair dryer she purchased locally, however, led her to consider working with a Chinese supplier in the future.
