Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip documented the overcrowding of several hospitals in China with children suffering from pneumonia as a result of the so-called “mixed infection,” which has spread widely in the Chinese capital, Beijing, and the Liaoning region.
According to media, China reported a jump in respiratory diseases months ago, and doctors said that this year’s wave appears to be more severe than previous years.
Chinese officials have attributed the illnesses to known pathogens such as influenza, SARS-CoV-2 — the virus behind the coronavirus pandemic — and Mycoplasma pneumoniae, a common bacteria that typically causes mild illness in children.
