On July 3, 2023, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 China-Japan-ROK Cooperation International Forum in Qingdao and delivered a speech.
Wang Yi pointed out that we should adhere to openness and inclusiveness so as to help each other achieve success. China, Japan and South Korea are all beneficiaries of economic globalization. After World War II, Japan and South Korea seized the tide of economic globalization and entered the fast lane of development. Over the past 40 years, China has accelerated its development and revitalization through reform and opening up, becoming the second largest economy in the world, and embarking on a new journey of building a modern socialist country.
China, Japan and South Korea are essentially interdependent, mutually beneficial and win-win relations. We must establish a sense of partnership, demonstrate a global vision, and truly regard each other’s development as our own opportunity. China will vigorously promote a higher level of opening up, and welcomes Japan and South Korea to take the express train of China’s high-quality development and jointly create a bright future for the three countries and even Asia.
