China lists app stores that follow new rules, but Apple is left out

China’s internet regulator has published a list of app stores that follow its new rules and the iPhone App Store is not among those approved.

According to information from the Chinese government, all stores must present commercial details and also inform how they combat problematic or banned applications in the country.

A total of 26 stores were approved, including options from Tencent, Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung and Baidu.

For now, Apple has not commented on the matter. Still, this increase in supervision by Beijing is something that has been communicated by the government for some time.

Therefore, in addition to checking whether these stores host prohibited apps, the Ministry of Technology is also considering starting to hold companies that host these tools responsible.

If a store refuses to open its data to the regulatory body, the Chinese government warns that a ban is expected in the country.

Market analysts say that China is unlikely to make an excess for Apple. Therefore, the tendency is for the company to have to remove thousands of applications from the iPhone store and this delay in certification may be something related to this review.
