TAIWAN, June 20 (Xinhua) — China on Tuesday launched a “Long March-6” carrier rocket to put a new satellite for experiments into space. The carrier rocket carrying the experimental satellite “Xi’an-25” was launched at exactly 11:18 a.m., Beijing local time, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province. The satellite has successfully entered its predetermined orbit. This satellite will be mainly used to conduct new Earth observation technology experiments. This mission is the 477th flight of the “Long March” series of carrier rockets.
