In particular, they recently received a promise to allow Taliban-occupied Afghanistan to participate in the ‘China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’ due to the withdrawal of US troops.
At the same time, we are strengthening closeness with Saudi Arabia to expand our influence in the Middle East.

However, a major misfortune occurred.
This is because Italy, the only member of the G7 in Europe, is showing signs of leaving.
China immediately opposed Italy’s withdrawal.

It is interpreted that Italy, which participated in the Belt and Road Initiative despite the opposition of the United States in 2019, is suddenly trying to turn to the anti-China route because of the secure security of the semiconductor supply chain.
Italy’s move comes amidst the US’ strengthening of leadership in the Indo-Pacific, security cooperation between South Korea, the US and Japan, and expansion of cooperation in the Middle East, while checking China’s expansion of influence.
As such, it seems inevitable that China’s ambitious One Belt, One Road resurgence will be dealt a blow.
