Russia has welcomed increased contacts between China and Ukraine on a solution to the recent war in Ukraine.
“We are ready to welcome anything that can hasten the end of the conflict in Ukraine and the achievement of Russia’s goals,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to reporters’ questions regarding recent exchanges between China and Ukraine.
Subsequently, the call between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which took place the previous day (26th), was evaluated as “a matter of sovereignty of each country” and was made legitimately.
