China’s domestically developed passenger aircraft enters overseas markets

SHANGHAI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) — China’s domestically developed regional airliner ARJ21 was delivered on Sunday to its first overseas customer, Transnosa, an Indonesian airline, making it China’s first passenger plane. Domestically developed enter the foreign market.

The delivered aircraft is designed with 95 seats, all of which are economy class. Its exterior is painted blue, yellow and green, according to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Co., Ltd. (COMAC).

The ARJ21 regional aircraft developed domestically in China has a range of up to 3,700 km, as the aircraft can fly in alpine and plateau regions, and adapt to different airport conditions.

COMAC said that to date, nearly 100 ARJ21 aircraft have been delivered to customers, operating more than 300 air routes to more than 100 cities and carrying more than 5.6 million passengers.
