China’s electronic information manufacturing industry recorded stable growth in August, with the added value of major enterprises in the sector increasing 5.8 percent year-on-year, official data showed.
In the first eight months of the year, the added value of major electronic information manufacturing enterprises increased by 0.9 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said.
This increase is up from the 0.1% growth recorded during the January-July period. Exports, as well as the revenues and profits of the main companies in the sector, showed signs of recovery compared to the first seven months, according to the ministry.
During the January-August period, fixed asset investment in the sector increased by 9.5 percent year-on-year, 0.7 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of investment in all industries, according to the data.
China’s top electronic information manufacturers are those whose annual revenue from core businesses reaches at least 20 million yuan (regarding 2.79 million U.S. dollars).
