Chinese imperialism is developing in forms as diverse as they are effective. Conventional and frontal as in Taiwan, and more discreet through massive financial support or aggressive commercial conquest campaigns

Next September, around 150 nations and around 30 international organizations will celebrate their adherence to the Silk Road Initiative project, supported by Switzerland. Launched by Xi Jinping a few months following his election as President of the People’s Republic of China on March 14, 2013, it aimed to improve commercial connections, land and sea, between partner countries. They then represented nearly 75% of the population and more than half of the world’s GDP.
