Beijing: China has protested that five citizens were denied entry into Russia. Those who traveled by road from Kazakhstan were detained for four hours and then sent back. The Chinese Embassy in Russia said in a protest statement that the action is not conducive to good relations between the two countries.

In a message sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Border Agency, the embassy pointed out that this is a cruel act that destroys the dignity of Chinese citizens. The Russian Foreign Ministry responded by saying that there is no discrimination policy and that they were stopped because of inconsistencies in the information in the visa application.
