With TSMC, another foreign chip company is moving to Germany: the world’s largest contract manufacturer announced on Tuesday that it would build a new plant in Dresden for at least ten billion euros. The Taiwanese company made a conscious decision in favor of the “Silicon Saxony” ecosystem, said Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer. Numerous microelectronics companies have already settled around the state capital.
