After a man suffered from constant headaches and noticeable visual impairment over a period of 6 months, doctors in a hospital in Vietnam were able to save him, after chopsticks used for eating were found in his skull, according to what was reported. Local media reports.

The man, whose identity was not revealed, was admitted to the Cuban Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam, after he complained of constant headaches, poor vision, and fluid secretion from his nose.

When that patient was asked about any suspicions he had about his strange condition, he did not reveal any possible cause for these symptoms, but the CT scan showed an intracranial tension pneumothorax, which is equivalent to an intracranial pneumothorax, in addition to the presence of two foreign bodies protruding from his nose into his brain.

Astigmatism is a condition that occurs after exposure to shock or perforation in the chest area due to exposure to a gunshot or stabbing with a knife. It may occur in patients placed on a ventilator, and it is considered an emergency.

Upon closer examination, the two foreign objects were identified as chopsticks, which were broken.

Asked how the chopsticks got into his skull, the 35-year-old patient was as puzzled as his doctors, but later recalled an incident he was involved in five months earlier, which could help explain his situation.

The Saudi Ministry of Health reacted, through its official Twitter account, to a citizen’s complaint about a strange incident that occurred in one of the “prestigious” hospitals in the country, according to his account.

While out one night, the man got into a physical altercation, before ending up in the emergency room.

However, doctors treated his wounds without assuming that the other man had inserted chopsticks into his skull.

After considering all options, the medical team decided to perform endoscopic surgery through the nose, along with microsurgery to close the patient’s cranial fistula, and remove the pair of broken chopsticks.

According to the head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Cuban Friendship Hospital, Dr. Nguyen Van Man, choosing the ideal surgical method “is crucial, to avoid any complications or future health effects on the patient.”
