Choupo-Moting is traded at Fenerbahce Istanbul

Will another striker leave FC Bayern after Robert Lewandowski and Joshua Zirkzee? According to current media reports, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is being traded by top Turkish club Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Even though the summer transfer window in the Bundesliga officially closed yesterday evening, player sales are still possible. In some European countries, the transition period is still in full swing, including in the Turkish Süper Lig. There, the transfer window is open until September 9th. According to current reports, Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting could make use of it.

Has Choupo-Moting been offered at Fenerbahce Istanbul?

As reported by transfer expert Rudy Galetti, the 33-year-old was offered to Fenerbahce Istanbul. The Turkish top club is desperately looking for a new attacker after a transfer from Maxi Gomez recently failed.

The Cameroonian has been repeatedly linked to a possible farewell to Bayern over the past week. His advisor Roger Wittmann recently clearly denied this: “The reports are far-fetched. I don’t know why that was written, the boy also clarified that internally. There’s no reason to write this. He stays with Bayern.”

But it is also clear that Bayern are very strong in attack and signed two new strikers in Mathys Tel and Sadio Mane in the summer. Choupo-Moting must therefore be content with a reserve role, but has never had a problem with it in the past two years.

The striker is contractually bound to the record champions until the end of the season. Due to groin problems and a kidney stone operation, he has only played one game for Bayern Munich so far.
