Based on Jack Carr’s novel True Believer, all eight episodes will premiere on October 21 across more than 240 countries and territories.
It has taken just over four years for the hit action series to return to Forbes, an unusually long gap driven by Hollywood strikes, international filming schedules, and lead actor Chris Pratt’s packed film slate. Pratt has appeared in at least six films since 2022, ranging from blockbuster comic book entries to animated features.
Plot Evolution and the Transition to Global Espionage
Season 2 shifts away from the localized revenge narrative of its predecessor to embrace an expansive international conspiracy. Adapted from Carr’s second novel, the new episodes find the protagonist on a path of violent redemption. The psychological revenge thriller expands into a globe-trotting espionage story that spans the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The newly released synopsis reveals that Reece uncovers a vast conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley, ultimately entangling his own family history.
Cast Additions and Returning Fan Favorites
A mix of familiar faces and new international talent populates the upcoming episodes. Returning cast members include Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry. Gabriel Luna joins the ensemble as Freddy Strain.
In addition to these core players, the production features an expanded roster of international talent. The extended cast includes Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, Jeremy Bobb, and Shiraz Tzarfati.
Release Strategy and Streaming Strategy
In a departure from Amazon’s typical rollout schedules for major original series, all eight episodes will drop simultaneously as a binge release on October 21. This decision comes as Amazon works to build a lasting franchise around the intellectual property. A prequel spinoff titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf aired in 2025, focusing on Taylor Kitsch’s character Ben Edwards. That prequel received strong critical marks, proving that the broader universe holds steady viewer interest.
Behind the scenes, the series is executive produced by Pratt through Indivisible Productions, along with writer and showrunner David DiGilio, author Jack Carr, Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick through Fuqua Films, former Army Ranger and writer Max Adams, and former Navy SEAL, writer, actor, and technical advisor Jared Shaw. Production is handled by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media.
Expanding the Prime Video Action Universe
With Pratt finished with his commitments to Marvel and other major franchises for the foreseeable future, the streaming platform appears poised to maintain a more consistent production cadence moving forward as it builds a durable military drama universe.
