Will Smith’s slap in the face at the Oscars could benefit comedian Chris Rock, whose ticket sales and prices for his shows have jumped since Sunday’s event.

This was revealed by ticketing sites TickPick and StubHub in statements provided to Global News on Wednesday.
The first site indicated that more than 50% of its sales for the American comedian’s tour have taken place since the Oscars, while tickets have been on the market since February 24.
Same story with StubHub, who mentioned that sales for the last three days represent “more than double the total sales” that the company experienced in March for this tour.
And in addition to a spike in demand, an increase in ticket prices has also been seen since the slap.
When a ticket was selling for around $50 on TickPick before the crash, the minimum price now available for his scheduled show in Toronto is $113, according to a spokesperson. At StubHub, access went from nearly $267 to $525.
Chris Rock is scheduled to perform June 18 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
