Sialkot (Pakistan): A Christian student who posted on social media in favor of Israel was shot dead in Pakistan. Twenty-year-old Farhan ul Qamar was killed in Sialkot, Punjab province. Although the police say that the murder was committed by Muhammad Zubair, who was enraged by posting in favor of Israel on social media, the family of Farhan is not ready to reveal the reason behind the murder.

The police officials have only informed the family that the investigation is continuing. Farhan’s father Noor-ul-Haq said that the accused entered the house in the early hours of the morning. Farhan’s family members said they tried to save Farhan, who was shot three times, but the killer, who held them at gunpoint, threatened them with Islamic slogans and shouted that he would kill all Christians. Farhan’s sister Shua said that her brother was killed in front of her eyes and that they live in agony every day and want justice.

A similar incident took place last month in the same village where Farhan was killed. A young Christian named Akib Javed and his father were arrested and jailed by the police for allegedly holding a rally in favor of Israel. But the family has repeatedly clarified that Akib did not participate in such a rally. The murder in the Punjab province is the latest evidence that Christians are victims of massive violence in the radical Islamic state of Pakistan.
