One of the most anticipated dates of the year has arrived, a night full of love, gifts and a lot of happiness from families not only in Colombia, but also around the world, each place with different traditions, but with something in common, they love rituals.
This is why here we share some that might be useful for this Christmas Eve.
Christmas rituals
- Lighting Candles: Place candles in your home and light them at the same time. Each family member can light a candle while sharing a wish or reflection.
- Thank you letters: Before dinner, ask each family member to write a short thank you letter to another person present at the gathering. Then, they share their letters before dinner.
- Blessings Ritual: Before dinner, take a moment to express gratitude for the food and the company of your loved ones. Each person can share a blessing or wish for the coming year.
- Wishing Tree: Create a small “wishing tree” where each family member hangs a card with a wish for the coming year. At the end of the night, they can read the wishes aloud.
- Christmas reading: Share a meaningful Christmas read. It can be a Bible passage, a classic story, or a personal story that has a special message for the family.
