As every year, I would like to give you a few styling ideas for your Christmas outfit. What to wear on the holidays or on Christmas Eve is not that easy to answer. Should it be flashy or comfortable? Preferably both in one. Do you want to wear a festive outfit or more of a casual look?
Since there are so many pants, dresses, blazers, skirts and tops with lots of shine and sequins this year, I bought some new items of clothing. You probably have a few Christmas invitations pending and New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. It’s not a bad idea to have one or two pieces of clothing with sequins. After all, an outfit like this can be worn after Christmas to the opera, to the New Year’s reception, to the festival or to the next big birthday.
My sequin look for the holidays
I used to not be the “sequins type” at all. This year I was inspired by so many shop window looks, magazines and online shops to try it out myself. The sequins these days aren’t as scratchy as they used to be. They hug the figure and fit wonderfully as trousers, a dress, a skirt or even a blazer to combine a festive look.
Black blazer with sequins
I bought my today’s look in different shops. The blazer is from the current collection of ZARA. The cut is classic and closes with a button. The shawl collar allows for many possible combinations. Whether it’s a turtleneck, a top or a blouse like I’m wearing today, a lot of things fit under the sequin blazer.
What can you combine the blazer with sequins with?

- A straight-cut silk dress fits perfectly under this elegant blazer.

White classic blouse
I don’t know a woman who doesn’t have at least one white blouse in her wardrobe. My blouse from byMi from Hamburg is a real classic. It has a slightly tailored cut and flatters every figure perfectly. What’s special is the contrasting fabric on the cuffs and button placket. A striking detail is the small heart on the cuff.
A white blouse looks stylish with sequin trousers. I will always combine the blouse with jeans, leather trousers, a skirt and my many trouser suits because it is so comfortable to wear.

The bright sequin pants
A combination of bright sequin trousers with a sequin blazer is hard to beat in terms of shine and glamor. The pants have a silver tone. They are comfortable and have no zipper or buttons. Pure convenience. These trousers, which I wear in size M, are from the current collection H&M.
How else can you combine the sequin trousers?
I came up with 5 styling ideas before I bought the pants.
- A classy long silk blouse in a classic cut goes perfectly with it.
- Do you love it cozy? Then a light or red cashmere sweater looks elegant with it.
- All of your monochrome blazers can be worn perfectly with sequin trousers.
- An oversized turtleneck sweater is a great break in style and eye-catcher at the same time for those cozy hours on the holidays.
- If you like wearing silk tops with lace, you can combine them with sequin trousers for an evening look.
Accessories for the Christmas outfit
With my outfit today I’m wearing an XL pearl necklace in different lengths. The hoop-shaped earrings are decorated with rhinestones. My high heels in silver go perfectly with a glamor look. You might as well choose high heels in black for today’s outfit. The clutch can be seen as a small eye-catcher. A bag in silver or black is of course just right if you want to keep everything tone-on-tone. Every lady can combine her choice of bag according to her own personality and sense of style.
Christmas outfit for 2023
One of my Christmas outfits for this year is definitely full of glitz and glamour. The versatility of the two new basic pieces, blazer and trousers, means I can create 10 new looks, all of which are already in my wardrobe. This is a good idea to look good during the holidays and between the years for all invitations, family visits, meetings with friends, New Year’s Eve and whatever else is planned.
