Lower Austria’s Christmas tree farmers are starting to sell Christmas trees in the cities and are spreading a lot of Christmas flair again this year. The Lower Austrian Christmas tree farmers have provided enough trees, a large selection and top tree quality.

It has now become a tradition: on December 12th, the municipal Christmas tree stands in public places in Lower Austria and Vienna open their doors. Lower Austria’s Christmas tree farmers don’t just have a large selection of trees with them. The all-round service also speaks for itself. Trees are not only fixed in the Christmas tree cross, but home delivery is also possible. Josef Reithner, chairman of the Lower Austrian Christmas tree farmers advises: “If you want to have the best selection, you shouldn’t wait until the last minute.” Reithner does not accept the argument that buying a tree late means you are taking home a completely fresh tree. “It’s actually good for the trees if they have been cut earlier. This way you can get used to the situation better and the needles stick better,” explains Reithner and recommends choosing a tree that has been cut at least two weeks before Christmas was cut. Anyone who stores their tree in a cool place after purchasing it and supplies it with water will be able to enjoy their tree long after Christmas.

Store the Christmas tree correctly – but how?

The Lower Austrian Christmas tree farmers advise: Keep the Christmas tree cool and moderately moist until Christmas. Place the tree in a water cross and open the Christmas tree net from bottom to top. Fill the Christmas tree stand with water. Before finally setting up the Christmas tree, trim the end of the trunk. The cooler the room, the longer the needles will last. So don’t place the tree next to a radiator.
