Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition arrives with its launch trailer | Xbox One

“Another world, another destiny”. Almost 23 years after its original release on the first PlayStation, Chrono Cross returns in 2022 under the name Chrono Cross : The Radical Dreamers Edition. The comeback of this mythical RPG orchestrated behind the scenes by Square Enix is the fruit of a long work which was revealed to us during a Nintendo Direct held last February, many improvements had then been announced.

Chrono Cross gets a second life

Improvement is the right word to use since Square Enix was very clear at the time of its presentation. Chrono Cross : The Radical Dreamers Edition is not a remake of the original episode, but a remaster. This does not mean that the game has not been entitled to a little facelift.

This new edition benefits from several advantages: reworked graphics (even if it is possible to play with those of the time), a re-orchestrated soundtrack, new artworks incorporated, the possibility of deactivating random combats and above all the integration French subtitles.

Your adventure promises many encounters, because the great strength of Chrono Cross is also a large panel of recruitable characters, 40 to be precise, the largest number in the history of RPGs.

Chrono Cross having been published for the first time in 1999, we have a thought for our youngest readers who would pass their eyes under this article, so here is a slight reminder of the story: You play as Serge, a young boy who finds himself projected despite him in another world. He will later discover that his existence is linked to the fate of the planet.

Note that this remaster also offers “RADICAL DREAMERS” – The Forbidden Treasure. It is a text adventure game first released in 1996 on Satellaview allowing to lay the foundations of the history of Chrono Cross.

Chrono Cross : The Radical Dreamers Edition is already available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
