We no longer present the Octo Finissimo from Bvlgari. In just a few years, this watch has become an icon of contemporary watchmaking with its atypical design, the finesse of its exceptional caliber and its case which make the door feel like a “second skin”.
This year, three men -Laurent Picciotto, founder of Chronopassion in Paris, one of the most influential figures in contemporary watchmaking; Mo Coppoletta, recognized for his art of tattooing in London and Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, director of Product Creation at Bulgari – took a new look at the language of art engraved in the skin, by reinterpreting it on the -precious- metal of the Octo Finissimo.
Today a form of individual self-expression, tattooing is considered fully as a form of art, which has its own trends, its own styles, from abstract to portrait, from figurative to hyperrealism, from tribal to modern.
Tattooing is evolving at a staggering speed. Coming out of the street, he opened up to other techniques, new styles and above all, to artists with their visual and cultural background, like Mo Coppoletta, artistic director and designer.
Completely “tattooed” with flames, the Octo Finissimo Tattoo Fuoco in pink gold concludes this Tattoo trilogy around natural elements: aria, aqua and fuoco! Air, water and fire. Three natural elements which will have forged the “skin” of the Octo Finissimo in three special editions produced exclusively for Chronopassion in Paris.
After Aria, studded with clouds and stars in 2021 and Aqua with its powerful aquatic swirls in 2022, the Octo Finissimo Tattoo is adorned with fire and flames in this final version which brings together these three men one last time around the fire.
If the two previous opuses were in sandblasted titanium, the Fuoco creation ignites under the shine of pink gold – a material with warm nuances dear to Bulgari and which obviously evokes the heat of flames better than a piece in titanium. !
This watch has a total thickness of only 5.15 mm thanks to the ultra-thin self-winding movement (Bvl 138) with a thickness of 2.23 mm, made possible thanks, among other things, to a platinum micro-rotor. Its power reserve, weekend proof, is increased to 60 hours.
