“In the middle of the followingnoon, the police were contacted by the CHwapi. The hospital (Notre-Dame) had received 2 anonymous calls concerning a bomb which would be located within the psychiatric department,” the mayor of Tournai, Paul-Olivier Delannois late in the followingnoon.
For security reasons, the wing of the department concerned was evacuated.
The police and detector dogs went to the site to carry out a complete search of the premises, as was the case in the morning at Sainte-Union.
Nothing was found and all precautionary measures might be lifted. The hospital and the psychiatry department in particular were able to resume their activity normally.
The alleged perpetrator of these second acts was intercepted. This would be a patient from the targeted wing and would in no way be involved in the first alert, according to our sources.
