Cinema is life – Janayugom Online

The director Shahad Sinim of the film Prakashan Pagte, which was written by Dhyan Sreenivasan and was loved by the audience, talks about his life…

A film in his own direction

Like any filmmaker, it was my big dream to release a film under my own direction. The movie ‘Prakashan Paakte’ is the result of many years of waiting and hard work. The fact that he was able to release the film on his own and moreover, that the audience has taken it to heart, is extremely happy to say the least.

Newspapers

Dhyan Chetan calls and talks about the subject of the film during the Covid era. Along with the flow of the story, both of us discussed and included each scene in the film keeping each character in mind. From the beginning we were sure that all the characteristic performances of Dileesh Chetan and Nisha Chechi would be perfect for the film. Mathew’s acting is natural in the film. The audience wanted to feel. We succeeded in that. Everyone had done the characters very well during the shooting.

Dileesh Pothan as father

Dileesh Ettan brings Mathew to the cinema through Kumbalangi netis. Therefore, the familiarity between them was very beneficial for the film. It was a good combination. Apart from being a great director, Dileesh Ettan is also a great actor. As a director in any scene, he has beautifully delivered whatever I wanted to convey to the audience. I really enjoyed his performances while shooting.

Eight cousin combination

A backbone of the film is the Etan Aniyan combination. Even when the discussion of the film was going on, Ettanai Mathew himself was seen. Later the attempt was made for the younger brother. He auditioned but did not get a suitable baby for the story. Meanwhile, actor Sreejith Ravi’s son happened to act in a web series. That’s how Ritu Jai gets Sreejith Ravi in the film as his brother. Throughout the film, every audience could see a fondness for the baby brother. Many people who saw the movie told me that.

Rurality in the film

I always wanted to make a film in a familiar, familiar environment while making a film. Dhyan also told some stories to Chetan and it also had a rural character. All my childhood was spent in a hilly village. I knew all their love firsthand. So I was sure that I could do the film beautifully in a rural setting. While sitting like that, the subject of the film Prakashan Pagkete comes to be. Then the necessary places were searched for it. That is how Shafi Chemmad, the production controller, while telling the story, on the instructions of Mohan sir, the director of the film, went to see the location of Poovarath and the intersection called Anakhamboil and confirmed that location. During the shooting, the locals also gave great support. The main scene of the film was shot at the railway station in Nilambur. In fact, I have taken the train to my dreams from Nilambur and I feel very fortunate that I was able to shoot the important scene of the film there.

Music by Shanika

Shanika’s music is definitely a big part of the film. When approached with the story, Shanika had said that the film deserves a good musical treat. His songs in the film are very popular. It is a great pleasure to work together with Shanika who has given big hits to the film industry.

With Dhyan Srinivasan as Associate

Dhyan met Chetan on the sets of the film Adi Kapyare Kootamani. Later, they approached me with many stories to make the film with Chetan as the hero, but none of it was right. Later everything was fine to do a work but due to some technical reasons that too did not happen. Later I was called as an associate for the film Love Action Drama. Actually that movie was a big turning point in my life. Dhyan is my guru.

Kuttanai Saiju note

We know that Saiju Chetan is a great actor. He will try his best to make the film better. I will stand with you in all aspects of the film. While narrating the story of the film, Saiju Chetan had decided to play the role of Kutanmama. Later, when we told him the story, he joined us. Chetan’s acting ability is what made him laugh in the theater from the beginning.

Cinema Life

He started making short films from the time of 10th standard and entered the film industry. The school period was all about acting and directing plays. He has been a contestant at all state levels during the Kalotsava days. An expat boy who loved cinema a lot at a young age. That’s how I like to describe myself. Watch movies again and again. During his school days he had to become a cameraman without any expectations to make a documentary. In fact, it was probably that day that opened the way to the field or dream of cinema. After the documentary, I started making short films involving my friends and family. My brother and his family did the first short film with colleagues like Vipin Das and Riaz. In 2009, short films were just beginning to gain importance. But the short film made that day gained attention among people. It was inspiring. After doing a short film called Oppana, there was a big change in life. As time passes, I remember all the old times when my name appeared on screen as assistant director, associate and chief associate in various films.
