After her debut album “Here Comes Everything” (2015), the Viennese singer-songwriter Clara Blume switched to her native language Spanish for her second album “Soñemos, alma” (Let’s dream, soul). The cultural scientist filled the intervening years with the publication of her dissertation on the Spanish Civil War and a move to San Francisco to conduct research at the interface between art and artificial intelligence.
Her new album “Soñemos, alma” has restrained instrumentation and Clara Blume’s voice moves over it with ease, always hauntingly. She packs thoughtful reflections into the texts, tells of her connection to the painter and enlightener Francisco de Goya and celebrates life in all its diversity.
