Clarifications of the Minister of Energy on increasing the cost of electricity in the context of fuel adjustment – Business & Economy

Federal Minister for Energy, Owais Leghari, while explaining the increase of electricity per unit, has said that the fuel price adjustment on the current month’s bills has been reduced from 7 rupees 6 paise per unit to 4 rupees 92 paisa.

In his statement, Owais Leghari said that electricity bills for April decreased by Rs 3.82 paise per unit, the overall decrease was due to quarterly and fuel price adjustments in dollar terms.

He said that the fuel price adjustment on the current month’s bills was reduced from Rs. 7.6 paisa per unit to Rs. 4.92 paisa. The first quarterly adjustment was Rs. 4.43 paisa. One rupee decreased by 68 paise.

He said that electricity bills will be reduced this month compared to last month.

He said that NEPRA determines the fuel price adjustment for every month and the price of fuel has decreased by Rs 2 14 paise.

It should be noted that the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased the price of electricity by Rs 4.92 per unit for a month.
