The activists’ attempt to block the national highway at Malappuram’s Kunnummal Junction resulted in a push and shove with the police and an arrest.

Pushing and shoving took place on the road for more than ten minutes between the activists and the police. Some activists fell on the road. There was a heated argument between the police and the leaders. People gathered on the road. All this time the traffic was stopped. DCC President V.S. Leaders including Joy intervened but the activists did not calm down. Meanwhile, the police arrested ten people including the district leaders and took them to the station.

With this, the activists marched to the police station as a demonstration, demanding the release of the leaders. On the way to the station, he sat down and shouted slogans. After the Congress leaders intervened and released the leaders on bail, the KSU workers ended their strike.

The police informed that a case has been registered against ten people for obstructing the road and obstructing the traffic and against a few people who were seen for besieging the station.
