Close Call: Child Narrowly Escapes Tragedy on Nieuwpoort Beach after Being Buried in Sand

This Tuesday morning, a tragedy was narrowly avoided on the beach of Nieuwpoort. While digging a large pit, a child was buried under the sand.

Fortunately for the little boy, his parents quickly sensed the danger and were able to pull their child out of the sand. According to estimates, he would have remained two minutes under the sand which had closed the dug tunnel.

After that, the child was taken to the hospital. He was conscious and his condition is stable. Emergency services received the worrying report around 10.30am.
