In a very open game in the first half and carried forward, the Bruges inherited their best opportunity by Nielsen in the 16th hitting the side netting. Well organised, however, it was Zulte Waregem who would be the most dangerous, but Dompé twice (7th, 12th) came up against Simon Mignolet who ultimately made three decisive saves in the first half.
From the start, a good combination allowed Skov Olsen to open the scoring for Bruges (47th). The Bruges continued to push, but against the Flandriens of Mbaye Leye equalized in the 69th by Drambaiev (1-1). It was even Zulte Waregem who proved to be the most comfortable, Bruges being less sharp, not enough in any case to snatch victory.
Zulte Waregem, despite a defeat at Antwerp, will seek a very good point in Bruges after an opening victory against Seraing. It’s the same record for Club Brugge, winner of Genk at the start of the championship.
This third day will end mainly on Sunday with a duel between Antwerp and OHL, the only two teams to have won their first two matches at the start of the championship.
