“We have nothing and we want to have everything”, with those words and with eyes full of tears, the historic leader of Deportivo Chile, Juan Pérez, participated in the ceremony to hand over the loan of the headquarters, after 62 years of waiting.

The infrastructure located on Avenida La Castilla, next to the Martín Ruiz de Gamboa High School, considered exterior and interior painting work, ceramic bathrooms, fences, railings and parking, to which is added the work already built that has a multipurpose room , among other characteristics, reaching an investment that exceeds $70 million.

Beyond the numbers, the mayor of Chillán, Camilo Benavente, highlighted the spirit behind the work, which provides an important institutional growth quota for Deportivo Chile. “Clubs generate strength and mystique, they make us coexist and are important in cities, that is why when the idea of ​​having a headquarters for this club materialized, we began to think about how to deliver it, now they have a headquarters in which an experience is generated that strengthens us as a person.”

Orlando Henríquez, president of Deportivo Chile, thanked the authorities and concluded that “this year we will celebrate 62 years of life, we had nothing, no headquarters, no field, but little by little we have taken on sports and institutional hierarchy, we have gone through different moments ”.

Deportivo Chile was born in 1962, the same year in which the country hosted the Soccer World Cup, this event being the trigger for the founding of the local club. Its foundation is supported by a group of workers from the Fuentes Mill who in their free hours used to play ball on an improvised field on Avenida Collín, between 5 de Abril and Arauco streets, right in front of their bosses’ house. , who, upon seeing the enthusiasm with which they carried out the activity, helped them to realize their football dreams.
